Halloween Week - TV

I am SO tired of B rated movies that are only being played becuase it is the week leading up to Halloween.

And the worst part is my Husband eats these movies up with a spoon. I am OK with the movies like Wizard of Oz - the boys loved it, and the cartoon movie Corpse Bride - the kids were so so on this one, the watched a bit, played a bit, watched a bit, etc.

But once nine PM hits, its stupid movies like Child's Play and whatever retarded one this one is. Some priest is murdering all the kids who make out.

So overdone. SO retarded. I cannot wait till Halloween has come and gone, and not just so that I can gobble down candy by the fist full!

Saturday night at the movies

The other night I was busy complaining about the crappy selection of movies they are showing on TV. Maybe the cable company hear my rant, I don't know, But I do know that ALL day today there has been one awesome movie after another!


Have you seen the movie Contact? I think the main actress is Jody Foster, Matthew McConaughey is in it too, which pretty much guarantees a damn good movie.

Richard Fangrad reviewed the movie here, and this is what he had to say:

Contact is based on the late Carl Sagan's 1985 novel of the same name. Dr. Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster), a scientist with the SETI program (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) searches the stars for intelligent life by renting time on huge radio telescopes and listening to the radio frequency energy coming from those distant stars for any signal that might be "non-random". She's looking for a signal that carries information. One day, she gets one. Her team quickly springs into action, recording and beginning to decipher the message. Before long the whole world is caught up in the excitement. Eventually it is revealed the massive amount of information is in the form of blueprints for an immense space/time travel machine for one human. Who gets to go, is decided at the highest levels of government. There's no real surprises in the plot until near the end... and I won't give that away.

Right after that we took a break to watch an episode of Smallville (season six) and then The movie The Net with Sandra Bullock was on. I had seen that one recently so I did not mind that the HUbs changed chanelles halfway through to watch SNL.

Tonight Bon JOvie is hte host. Thats pretty funny :o)
