Ahh yes. Winter

Last night brought us five new inches of snow, freezing rain, and a flu bug.

So far as I know, only one of us has it, and he has been segregated onto the couch with a Scooby Doo movie and a bucket.

I have my fingers crossed that the baby wakes up fine. He tends to be a follower in matters of germs. If one of us has it, he has it too. I have a feeling it is his unbridled passion for kissing that does it.

It is times like this that I am glad that by the age of one the kids all had been taught how to aim for a toilet or a bucket. I would hate to try and scrub puke from the floors!

Kids these days

My son is trying to save up money. I have no idea what for and he only has four dollars so far (although I foresee a bit more in the near future what with his three loose teeth)

This afternoon it was only about minus fifteen so the kids were sent out to play while we put away the groceries. One one of the trips out I found my five year old trying to sell real estate.

Seems the neighbor kids have used up most of the Usable snow in their front yard and wanted some of ours (YES!! Please!! Take it ALL) and Mr. Blue Boy was trying to sell the front yard for a dollar.

Sigh

Bullet List

Ahh Wednesday - Hump day

  • Today I took the middle one to the dentist.
  • He has four canker sores.
  • ouch
  • The three year old desperately wanted the dentist to look in his mouth too.
  • they were very busy so she would not.
  • I am going to make him an appointment.
  • I brush his teeth but he has never had a dental visit.
  • Think he is too young still?
  • Mr. Five year old gets headaches a lot lately.
  • on the days he goes to school and after watching movies mostly.
  • Last year at the optometrist, he was an 8/10,
  • Ten meaning he needs glasses.
  • He goes back in early January.
  • I think he will need glasses by then.
  • But that's OK, he looks really cute in them.
  • The oldest is doing poorly in school.
  • I am at a loss for what I can do to help him.
  • He is being good at home though.
  • Stranger than fiction I know.
  • My back hurts.
  • as per usual.

Halloween cometh

It is now the 21st of October. In ten days the children will be roaming the streets shouting for candy and dancing in their skin.

Stuperman was sick last year and so this will be the first time he will go trick or treating and know what he is doing. He is going as a monkey.Stuperman is so tiny that the costume his oldest brother wore at 2 is large enough for him to wear with his snow suit on under it.

Blue boy is going to be a dinosaur again becuase the costume still fits. He isn't very happy about it, but as he doesn't have a choice I think he will put it on when the day comes. It's either that or he will be staying home and handing out candy with me.

Rainbow Man, as the oldest and the one who seems to grow the most, usually gets a new costume every year. Last year it was a seven dollar sword, I made the rest, and he went as a pirate. This year we searched online and decided that the Mummy costume sounded the coolest (to him) and the easiest (to me).

We cut up a billion strips of white and tan and off white fabric remnants, the smaller ones I sewed together, and we will spend a few hours on the 31st tying him up in strips of cloth!

Should be interesting. I will be sure to take pictures!
