Treasure Hunt

I want to do a treasure hunt with the two oldest children.

What I'm thinking is maybe ten clue cards. The first one I give them at the start of their journey. The first card will tell where to find the second clue and so on until they find their treasure.

My trouble is thinking of good places to hide the cards and then coming up with clues for them that are understandable to a seven and five year old.

The "treasure" will be the pail and bucket sets they will bring camping with us.

Any ideas floating out there you care to share?

Have you ever tried this type of thing?

Thanks for visiting my blog!

I don't have any ideas for the clues, but those kind of treasure hunts are fun. I wonder if there's some clue ideas online somewhere?

My bitchy SIL is great at that. Making them rhyme and everything. I hate her. I don't have any ideas for you. Sorry. Want me to give you her number?

That's a rad idea. We're leaving on a trip soon-- I may have to do this. Do you just come up with this stuff often?

Good places to hide clues are those not normally seen as in scotch taped to the underside of chairs and drawers, under rugs and inside fav toys. Prepare for mass destruction though. Final clue is written on a label with key attached. Key opens locked place where bucket sets are. Sounds fun, can I join in?
